Your Wedding Photography Explained

Style and Method

Liverpool wedding photographer. Sunset photo of bride and groom in Southport

Whether you choose a short ceremony only package or a full blown wedding photography package covering the whole day, the service and attention to detail is the same.

My shooting method is relaxed, mainly off the cuff, reportage photography aiming to put you at ease, provide a friendly informal atmosphere, thus helping produce natural looking results for you to cherish. I aim to make myself as inconspicuous as possible. The best shots are almost always taken when the subject forgets I'm there. Capturing natural shots helps produce great candid photography. A smile or a laugh looks so much better when it’s real.

Very little ‘posing and directing’ is done because a capture of natural emotions and laughter looks and feels so much more precious than a faked ‘now give us a smile’ cheesy grin. Candid off guard or posed, your images will be captured to show the story of your day, creating lasting memories that you will be proud to display and treasure forever.

You will probably require the obligatory posed and formal shots with the parents, bridesmaids, Best Man etc even if you hate the idea of posing. I promise to make the experience as short and painless as possible.

Images are provided with no copyright restrictions. They are full resolution images enabling you to order large prints and canvasses and you are free to use them as you please. Supplied on USB storage drive, the images can be copied, emailed, posted on Facebook and shared with friends and family.

The Booking Process

Your Wedding Photography from Booking to Getting Your Photos

So, How does it all work?

From first contact through to you receiving your wedding photographs I am available by phone or email to offer any help or answer any queries you may have.

You can use the Contact Form , message me on the Facebook page or email direct to to make your initial enquiry.

To help me give an accurate quote please give details of the date of your wedding day, the location of the wedding venue and an idea of the coverage required. Some suggested packages can be found on the Prices page but these are fully flexible to suit your exact needs on the day.

If you are happy with the package and quoted price a very informal meeting is the next step just as an introduction and to complete the booking process. The whole booking can be done online via email but a meeting is always preferable just to show my face and introduce myself.

The deposit of £100 secures the day and is recorded on your booking form as proof of payment. Any balance is due no later than 14 days before your wedding day. Booking Forms are available for download along with other useful documents.

Closer to your wedding day we would have a meeting to finalise the little details: time of ceremony, time of speeches, any special wedding photograph requests, do you like strictly formal or fun type wedding photographs etc.

On the actual day of your wedding I would aim to be at the venue 90 minutes prior to the time of your wedding ceremony. This allows me to take any scene setting photos before the crowds arrive. We would also take the bridal preparation photos during this time if they are part of the package.

Once the ceremony is complete it is always a good idea to organise the whole group shot immediately after. All except those required for family and formals can now begin to enjoy their day.

Formals can take anything from 20 minutes and longer depending on the number of family and guests you want to include. We would also set aside a time for the bride and groom wedding photographs before the speeches and meal. If possible we would try to organise the mock cake cut at this time.

Having finished the formals the bride and groom can join their guests and begin the celebrations in earnest. I will mainly be shooting from a far and capturing the atmosphere and candid shots of people enjoying themselves.

The wedding speeches and evening dancing are photographed from the sidelines. I don't want to get in your way and the photographs are so natural when taken like this.

30 minutes after the first dance, if part of the chosen wedding photography coverage, I quietly leave you all to carry on celebrating into the night.

The processing of the wedding photographs will take about 4 working days. I aim to have them delivered on a USB stick by the end of the week following your wedding day.
